Monterey Bay Aquarium

Housed in the former Hovden Cannery on Monterey’s Cannery Row, the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium offers exciting exhibits that will please the whole family. This non-profit aquarium is dedicated to marine research and inspires ocean conservation with fabulous, exhibits that include shark encounters, a life-sized kelp forest, live otters, spectacular jellyfish, penguins, hands-on activities for children, and much more.

Visit the Monterey Aquarium. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is located at the north end of Cannery Row, the waterfront street in Monterey, California made famous by author, John Steinbeck. The area around the aquarium and Cannery Row is a marine sanctuary, which is home to the aquarium and a large group of California Sea Lions. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is open daily, except Dec. 25 from 10am – 6pm, with summer weekend hours from 9:30am-8pm. Ticket prices range from $15.95 - $24.95 and children under age three are free.
